Get involved...Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue is a volunteer organization of people from different backgrounds who give up their own time to be on standby for marine emergencies on the water. Learn new skills, meet great people, have fun, and give back to your community! Our training season starts in October each year, with classroom training every Thursday night. Positions are available for active crew and also for the fundraising & communication committee and governing society.
We train throughout the year to be prepared for all types of incidents, in all kinds of conditions. We regularly practice search patterns, vessel handling, transport, towing, first aid, navigation, and more! Active boat crew must have a PCOC and live within 15 minutes of our base located in Garden Bay. Want to learn more... contact us. |
Where you’ll find us...We're based in Pender Harbour, but cover a vast portion of the Malaspina Strait, from McNaughton Point to Scotch Fir Point, as well as Jervis Inlet, including Princess Louisa Inlet and Hotham Sound. We also provide support and act as safety vessels and first aid assistance to community events year-round.
Stay safe with a free safety check... Free Safety Checks by RCMSAR Station 61 around Pender Harbour is temporarily suspended. Please check bach with us as we will be offering the service again in the near future when a trained inspector is availalble.
