The Iona C

Picture
Painting by Motoko

Our vessel, the Iona C, was put into service in May 2007. The name came from the efforts of a Northern MP, Iona Campagnolo, who was instrumental in getting the Coast Guard Auxiliary started in Canada.

About the Iona C

Station 61's vessel "Iona C" is a Type 2 Fast Rescue Craft 28ft Enclosed Cabin Rigid Hull Inflatable, powered by two Yamaha 250HP Outboards.  Her top speed is 45 knots (or just over 80 kmh).  It was designed and built for RCM SAR 61 in 2007 by Titan Boats of Sidney, BC.  She is well-equipped for a variety of missions.
