Located just northwest of Daniel Point, this webcam looks west towards the Hodgson Islands (centre), Fearney Point on Nelson Island (upper right, behind the tree), and the south end of the Agamemnon Channel (far right). Texada Island spans the horizon.
Fearney Point is named after Nelson’s bargemen William Fearney. He was responsible for the swords surrendered by Spaniards during the battle of Cape St Vincent. He is commemorated on a plaque at the foot of Nelson’s Column (in Trafalgar Square, London).
The Agamemnon Channel was named in 1860 by Captain George Henry Richards in honour of the 64-gun battleship HMS Agamemnon. She was commanded by Horatio Nelson, for whom the adjacent Nelson Island was named. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Agamemnon_(1781)
